Why Adopt a Used Dog?

To me the answer is simple.  Second chances.  New beginnings for both of you.  Giving hope to a new friend who may have thought that life was 24/7 on a chain, or going hungry, or not getting any affection.  Your new friend has likely outgrown the puppy silliness that tends to make your shoes disappear & mysterious wet spots appear throughout the house.

Look at the face above.  A good portion of his life was spent on a chain, never allowed to interact with the family inside.  As you can see, he appears quite happy & content in his new family's house, and in turn, they love him dearly.

I'll never forget the day his adoptive family took him home.  Dad bounced & rolled around the yard with him, just like there was a silent understanding that 'this could be it.'  Mom & kids took their turns  getting to know him, and when we loaded him in the car it looked like the most normal thing in the world, to be going on a trip with these people.  Wow, kids to play with, even!

My heart absolutely fills with joy whenever I get updates on the dogs that have gone to their forever homes and have been made an actual member of the family.  This dog especially touched my heart, since his life changed so much for the better when he went to his forever family.

We have many stories like this, but in this case, THANK YOU  to Chris, Amy & girls for giving Bear such a wonderful home.  We appreciate you.
