The following is not our actual contract, but a copy of the terms laid out when you decide to finalize an adoption of one of our dogs:

• The adoption fee is payable at the time I (we) sign this agreement.  For young healthy dogs, the adoption fee is $275, for senior or disadvantaged dogs, the adoption fee is $175.00.  This fee will cover expenses incurred in preparing this dog to be placed in my (our) home.
• I (we) will pay additional expenses, if necessary, required for appropriate veterinary care which may be needed before this dog is placed in my (our) home.
• This adoption fee will be refunded at half the fee within 30 days if the dog is safely returned to Great Pyrenees Rescue of Montana in the same condition it was at the time of adoption.
• I (we) am willing to have a representative of GPROM visit my home by appointment to discuss placement and the rescue program.  GPROM has provided to me (us) all available information pertaining to this dog and is not responsible nor liable for any unknown or unavailable information concerning habits, health, temperament, or past treatment of this dog.
• I (we) understand that it is my responsibility to personally assess this dog and its suitability for my needs.
• I (we) agree to license this dog and give regular health care, including annual health exams, immunizations & boosters,  heartworm preventative and any necessary medical care, and further agree that I have sufficient financial ability to do so.
• I (we) agree not the have the hind dewclaws removed from the dog (if they exist at time of adoption).
• i (we) agree not to have this dog in any way surgically debarked, for any reason.
  
• I (we) agree that GPROM can require the return of this dog if you are unable or fail to provide regular health care, and safe & reasonable shelter and food for this dog, in the judgement of GPROM.
• I (we) agree to contact GPROM if I (we) cannot keep this dog for any reason, and to return the dog to rescue.
• I (we) will give notice to GPROM and will make arrangements for the proper care of this dog for up to two weeks after giving notice, while arrangements are made by GPROM to provide for the re-homing of this dog.
• I (we) agree to provide adequate fencing adjacent to and accessible from my (our) home to ensure the dog's safety, to provide adequate protection from heat & cold, and to refrain from chaining or tying the dog outdoors, as well as always walking the dog on a leash away from home, if not in a contained environment.  If I (we) do not honor this contract it becomes null & void, and GPROM retains the right to reclaim and take possession and ownership of the dog.
• If I am (we are)  unable to keep the dog for any reason after the 30 day trial period has expired, I (we) agree to return it to GPROM and forgo all rights to the dog.  The dog may not be sold, given away, placed in an animal shelter, or euthanized without written permission of GPROM.  The exception to euthanasia woiuld be in the case of severe injury or suffering on the part of the dog.
• I (we) agree to allow a representative of GPROM to make periodic announced visitis to my (our) home and property to check on the welfare of the dog.  In consideration of the Great Pyrenees Rescue of Montana allowing me (us) to adopt this dog, I (we) promise and agree to be solely responsible this animal and to indemnify & hold harmless GPROM, its Board of Directors, Officers, Agents, Members, and Volunteers from any and all claims of liability for the health or conduct of this animal on and after the date on which I (we) take possession of this animal.
