Dear friends and supporters, Great Pyrenees Rescue of Montana desperately needs to win the Shelter Challenge this round, which started January 9th and will last through March 18.  If you follow these simple instructions, you will get a daily reminder to vote the same as I do…. And it really does help to have that reminder!!!  So,

 Step 1 – go to www.theanimalrescuesite.com

Step 2 – click on the purple box where it says “Click Here to Give – it’s FREE!” so that the sponsor will give a partial bowl of food to a rescued animal

Step 3 – after you have clicked to give the food, you will be taken to another page where you need to click on the words “Shelter Challenge” on the tabs on the right of the page

Step 4 – in the box for “shelter name” type in these words: great pyrenees rescue of montana – then in the box for “state” choose MT and click on “search” – this should bring up a box where you will then have the opportunity to VOTE for us.  Once you have voted, another page will come up and you will be asked to “confirm your vote” by entering a series of letters/numbers in a box, and once that has been done, your vote has been entered.

Step 5 – NOW you have reached the point where you can schedule Daily Reminders for yourself – you will see that you are now able to “click” on the Daily Click Reminder… which will then bring up a box where you fill in your information in order to get the daily reminders .

After doing this, you will get daily email reminders to vote – and you will be able to click on a link in the email which will take you to the page to vote….

Believe it or not, we have climbed from 10th place to 8th in a matter of 2 days… with your help we can climb to the top and receive the much-needed $1000 prize in March.

Expenses during winter months, especially with sub-zero temps, climb drastically – although the dogs are in insulated rooms (NOT a doghouse) heat lamps being used and the electric meter is spinning, food consumption is up, etc.  Two of our recently rescued dogs are underweight and need even more food… bottom line, we truly need this cash infusion – and this is the easiest way for you to see that we get it…  PLEASE help us help the dogs – simply by voting daily.

We want our foster dogs to have new and Pyrfect homes - so PLEASE, before you fill out an application to adopt, go to the bottom of this page and click on Great Pyrenees Breed Information...  Read it all the way through and acquaint yourself with this wonderful breed - understand that more than with many other breeds, the Pyrenees has certain behaviors that you can almost count on - barking (part of their guarding instinct), wandering (they have to patrol to guard and they don't know where their patrol area ends) - they sometimes have selective hearing when it comes to commands...etc.  We are going to ask you if you either have experience with the breed or have read their description - so be prepared:)

Are you ready to be a "foster parent" to a Great Pyrenees or Pyr mix dog?  Are you willing to provide (i.e. pay for) food and love for a temporary (but unknown) length of time?  If so, we REALLY need you.

or - are you a dog trainer with time on your hands, willing to travel to Lavina and spend some time with the dogs that still need help with their manners and basics?  We need you too!!

We have an ongoing need for donations to update and ready foster premises for the dogs, specifically:

* 100' rolls of 6' fence with the small rectangles, and the posts to go with that, wood for the corners and metal.

*The labor to put all that together!

**It's here!!!  We now have a blog.. look for the word blog at the bottom of the page and see the latest happenings**

Happy dogs - our fosters have been groomed by the wonderful groomers of "Groomingdales" in Billings, MT (406 969-1537).
